Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Real Prompt Generator also uses your browser's local storage to keep your work on your own device.

Essential (always on)

These make the site work and keep it secure. They cannot be switched off.

• rpg_sid: keeps you signed in. Lasts for your browser session, or up to 30 days if you choose "Remember me".
• rpg_in: tells the page you are signed in, so the right menu shows. Same lifetime as rpg_sid.
• rpg_csrf: protects forms from being sent by other websites. Session.
• rpg_admin and rpg_viewas: for our staff on the admin pages only.
• reCAPTCHA (Google): helps tell people from bots on sign-in and contact forms.

Local storage on your device

Your drafts, recent prompts, studio choices and settings (keys starting with "rpg.") are kept in your browser so your work is still there next time. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Analytics (optional)

Google Analytics (_ga cookies, up to 2 years) shows us how many people use each page and feature, in aggregate. It helps us improve the site.

Advertising (optional, only when ads are on)

When ads are switched on, Google AdSense may set cookies to show and measure ads. Ads are never shown to people on a paid plan. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see Google's consent message first and can say no.

Changing your choices

• Use the consent message, when it appears, to accept or refuse optional cookies.
• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies stops sign-in from working.
• To opt out of Google Analytics on every site, use Google's opt-out browser add-on. For ads, visit Google's Ad Settings.
